Planning the trip to Samui

After many holiday trips to the malaysia and reading the post from Tarzan666 from MCF, I got really inspired and so decided to have my own road trip adventure further up north to Thailand.
As this is the first time for me driving into Thailand, so I got myself prepared with

2) Paper map of southern Thailand from Mapquest
3) Paper map of Koh Samui from http://www.samui.org/map/
4) Hotel reservation from ratestogo
